Sonny Bill Williams' high-profile manager has given the strongest indication yet his superstar client will remain in New Zealand beyond this year's Rugby World Cup.
The NZRU is on a roll having just secured Dan Carter's ground-breaking new four-year deal while a similar announcement regarding Richie McCaw's retention is expected this week.
But if Williams' prized signature is to be added, the contract may have to be the most innovative the NZRU has offered in its century-plus history, including the ability to play league and rugby during the term.
